Hey peeps! how are you!

I may sound a little kaisu but i need to know during the dec holidays when are you free, so that we can plan another awesome gathering :D

If we set the date earlier there is more time to change plans in case something happens...

You can also give suggestions on what you want for the gathering. Example; what do you want to play or where do you want it to be :D

here are some changes to the outing plans:

I've checked the timings for the movie "Drag me to Hell" and so far only filmgarde has the best show times:

Wed 24 Jun
10:55am 1:00pm 3:05pm 9:50pm

We will take the 3.05pm one.
So we'll meet at bugis mrt at 2.15pm and then walk to Iluma shopping mall together for the show first.
Following that, we will go for early dinner.

Hello peepos.! i haven really posted here for a long long time.
but now, since it's holidays. i would like to take this chance to gather everyone back (:
hmmmm. i kinda got planns that we as a group would either go to the beach to play or perhaps,
Swimming.?
As for the dates, i wouldnt be sure which day would be best for everyone so,
i hope to make it starting from 8-13 of June.

Some of you might have found out from the Website that the Camp in Bintan has been removed.

IM here to confirm that the camp is indeed cancelled due to the recent outbreak of Swine Flu.

The Trainers have decided that is is safer to take Precautions.

It will be a hassle having to go through temperature checks and should any of the participants or resources be ill, they will not be able to pass through immigration, and some plans might be affected.

Don't feel discouraged, take it as a learning opportunity! Tell yourself 'never give up!!' [it doesn't just apply to academic, it can be your cca for example]

Moral of the story? I'll leave it to you all to pounder. But I do agree with Joanne that everything in my life depends on my attitude. Melvin's point make sense too. Just think about the effect of saying a simple 'thank you' to maybe your school cleaning aunty or uncle if you come across them in the toilet or when you see them emptying your classroom's trash bin - it can make their day. =D

Happiness isn't just dependent on our attitude,
Its dependent on our attitude of gratitude.

If you can't give thanks for a pass, do you think you can give thanks for an A?
If you can't give thanks for a simple meal, do you think you will thank the person who treats you to a feast?
If you can't give thanks for your first car, do you think you can give thanks for your tenth one?

You can argue that being easily satisfied is what i'm trying to say here, but i'm not talking about satisfaction, i'm talking about gratification.

Because true happiness is found always in the simplest things.(Isn't it not?)
Now how do you think you start appreciating those simple things,
Doesn't it all start with gratitude?
Be a person of gratitude today. ;)

Getting there

The above map shows you how to get to the underpass from the bus stop that you alight. You will need to walk through the blocks of HDB flats to get to the underpass.

Here are a few ways in which you all can go to ECP:

1) By Taxi (tell the uncle to send you to carpark C4) -- Orange Circle(Above map)

2) Take MRT and alight at PAYA LEBAR station, Walk to the bus stop that is right infront of SING POST CENTER, then you can take all these buses 135, 76 or 43. Alight at the bus stop opposite blk 57. (Count the number of stops by looking that the bus service directory at the bus stop first if you are not sure where to alight) Then walk through the blocks of HDBs to reach the underpass. (refer to map above - long red arrow)

3)Take a bus that goes to Marine Parade Road. Walk through the underpass from Marine Terrance (Alight at the blk 57 bustop(busstop number: 92079) -from bedok/siglap direction or opp blk 57 busstop(busstop number:92071) -from paya lebar direction on Marine parade road) (refer to map above - long red arrow)

Here are the buses that goes to marine parade road :
13, 16, 31, 36, 43, 48, 55, 76, 135, 196, 197

Here's the map of our BBQ venue. There are 2 red circles in the map. One marks the BBQ pit area while the other highlights the underpass that you all can take from Marine Terrance. The underpass is located behind the HDB flats, so if you might need to walk abit after you have alighted at the busstop on Marine Parade Road (bus stop name: opp blk 57 - if you are coming from paya labar), blk 57, if you are coming from bedok). For those who are alighting at the busstop opposite blk 57, you need to cross the traffice light to get to the HDB, which will then lead you to the underpass.

I recommend you all to meet up and then go together if you really don't know the way.

I hope I don't sound confusing.

Christmas is coming and to add abit more fun to the BBQ gathering, I suggest that we have a gift exchange? We all bring something along and we will exchange the gifts by drawing lots/names? Lets set the arbitrary price of the gift at $2-$5? That means you can get anything which price is between the range. Hey guys!

Most of you had already received my SMS last weekend. For those who did not, that's because I don't have your number, sorry =(. But don't worry, I'm posting the details of the gathering here. =D We will be having BBQ at East Coast Park(ECP). I have the idea of booking a chalet for you guys at first, but unfortunately, all the chalets are fully booked for the month of december. So I'll just simplify it to a BBQ instead.

Here are the details:
Date: 15th Dec 2008
Meeting venue: East Coast Park (Area C), BBQ Pit 31
Meeting time: 4.30pm
(you all can come anytime after 4.30pm)
Price: $12 per person
(Pls pass it to me by all means before the 15th of dec)
Food: I'll be catering the food from a BBQ caterer.

Resourcing + gathering

Hi.

Ok, first thing first.

Let me say something about resourcing. I encourage all of you to apply, but whether you get it or not, it is up to the trainers to decide. And also, I want to remind everyone that resourcing for a camp is not a gathering with other fellow resources. If you guys want to know who else is resourcing for the up coming camps, you can pop the question here like, how Marc had done it on the tag board. A gentle reminder to everyone: This blog acts as a channel for us to discuss things like gathering and other stuffs. I don't see the need to collaborate as I guess nobody knows who else is resourcing unless those who are resourcing answers your question. It's not an obligation for us(me, chenghao or any other resource) to collaborate the resourcing part. Hope you guys understand what I'm trying to say.

Next thing about the gathering. Since grace can't make it on the 19,20 & 21 and roseann can't make it on the 19 of dec. Can we have it on one of the weekdays? Just a simple BBQ at East Coast Park? Please choose one of the days either the 15, 16, 17 or 18 of dec. If not, just let me know whether these dates are ok for u all. I really hope this is the last time I have to fix the date ya? Cos we need to get the pits and the food and other arrangement. All these takes time. Also, I need everyone to pay a small sum of $$$ for your food and drinks. I haven decide the amount yet but I will keep you all updated. Yup. So, please get back to me asap? Thanks alot! =D

do you guys fancy a Christmas gathering instead of a normal gathering? Like that we got more things to do. Haha. Could rent a chalet and have bbq instead of going to sentosa. Of course, I'll do my best to source for any available chalet but I'd be very glad if any of you can offer to help me out with it cos I think at this point of time (its already coming to the end of Oct), most chalets would have been taken/fully booked. Ok, concerning the year end outing:
From most of your responses to the outing, I shall finalise the date to be on the 17th Nov 2008? Unless any of you are resourcing for Smartkids workshop(runs from 17/11/08 to 20/11/08), I believe most of you would be free on this date. Everyone fine with this date?

As for the activities, original plan was to have picnic, sports and games there. Hmm, interestingly, according to your tags, table tennis and tennis (I don't think there is any tennis court or tables for tt there) at sentosa? You all joking only right? Haha. For the picnic, I'm just worried that you guys might get hungry after playing. So you all can choose either to bring you own food, or (if I remember correctly), there is a foodcourt at one of the beaches in Sentosa, we can eat there after the activities.

JiaYing will be bringing volleyball.

Hey all!

Firstly, congrats to the opening of our facebook account. thank you Melvin!
Secondly, after much consideration and some discussion with those of you who I saw during the last oasis class, I have came up with 2 dates. Either 17th or 21st of Nov. Do let me know which day you guys prefer. If attendance is poor, we might have to change the date. I suggest that perhaps everyone can post or tag their available dates(when you can and when you can't) like how Roseann had done in her post? That would be easier for everyone and also for me to finalise a day for the outing.
Thirdly, I have updated the birthdays for Samuel, Roseann and Raeann =D
Lastly, all the best to all your remainng and on-coming papers! Do us and yourselves proud!

Hey how have you been?? My EOY papers are left with maths, E-lit, chinese(2) and DRAMA!! My birthday, as well as Raeann's is on the 7 October!! so sad, my exams end on the 8th. Anyways for the after exams outing, i just want to let you know that me and Raeann will be out of town from the 7nov till 16 nov and will set off for chiang rai on 18 nov till 21 nov..

ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hey all,

For our coming year end outing, we will be going to SENTOSA to chill out. We need to fix a date. And as I have stated in the tag box, please let me know when your last day of exams will be. And also, when your school hols officially start, so that I can come out with a few dates to let you all choose.

So far, Roseann will end her exams on 8th oct. Carmen's O lvls ends on the 13 of nov. Anyone ending later than 13 of nov?

The activities that Joanne Ong and me have in mind are:

1. Picnic - where everyone will contribute one kind of food, so that we get a variety of food to eat, haha. You guys can also team up to prepare a the food that u are going to bring, cos I know preparing the food can be quite tedious if only 1 person is doing the job, say maybe 3 of you can contribute chicken wings? That will be nice. I suggest that a few of you(boys) can contribute drinks? Cos it's kind of heavy for girls to carry them all the way to Sentosa. Yup.

2. Ball games - there are free volleyball courts and basketball courts at siloso beach, so those who have vballs or bballs at home, it will be nice if you guys can bring them along.

3. Swimming - going to sentosa, of course must play in the waters right? So everyone need to bring extra clothing, it's a MUST, cos you never know if you will get wet or not. Haha.

4. Card games - we can also play simple card games. So those who have poker cards or UNO cards, please bring.

If you guys have any suggestions as to what ele we can do at sentosa, do let everyone know!

Hey all!

September holidays are gone and it's back to school again. Term 4 of 2008.

Some questions to ask ourselves:
Have we made full use of the holidays?
How much have each and everyone of us achieved so far?
Looking ahead at this point of time, how much time do we have left before the final examinations?

Here's something meaningful i found while blog-hopping today:

Hello to fellow superteens!

A piece of good news for all of you:
I started this blog so that it can serve as a portal to keep everyone from the camp connected.

Aiya, i'm sure you all know.. as time goes by, each of us need to get on with our own lives (omg! it rhymes!) so i hope that this blog will be a channel of communication for all of us out there. everyone is free to post, be it questions/problems that u meet in ur studies, videos that you would like to share with all of us, song recommendations, jokes, random posts, outing details, or any other things that you would like to share with all of us and etc... ... and everyone(or al least, those who can help) will try to help with answering the questions and hopefully give comments on the ramdom posts that are posted!

but you all may wonder why I create this blog all of a sudden, erm.. which is like 2 months after the camp? sad to say, I dont have an answer to that also.. I just have the urge to create this blog lor.. for those who go for oasis, we still get to see each other almost every weekend, but for those who are not in oasis, we seldom see each other unless during outings yar? think thats the reason why i initiated this blog ba.. haha.. meanwhile, i will try to link as many people to this blog as possible.. =)

oh.. and one more issue.. i had a hard time brainstorming for a blog title for this blog.. any suggestions? meanwhile, it will be 'an official blog'. do post some suggestions yar?
